Mini Slideshow - The Getty Museum An amazing building with lots of open and negative space making it a peaceful escape from the city. Hang out here for a day in the grounds and take your time while you stroll around absorbing the exhibitions. The Getty located on a 270m hill is one of the most visited museums in the United States with approx 1.3 million visitors a year. The architectural story is really interesting as the whole building is based on a primary grid structure of squares where most wall and floor elements are 30-inch squares. The 30 inches is about depicting the standard measurement of comfortable personal space between people.

Driving down around Manhatten Beach (just south of Los Angelos), the houses and living styles appeared to be a combination of Spanish and European. Looking up while driving around the corner Mr Zebra appeared looking out over the verandah. Small verandah, large zebra - I'm sure someone interesting lives here. Oh and this was an interesting catch at the local Pier. This man was feeding and watering the pigeons. Just happened to be getting the water ready as I came along. The birds obviously loved him as they stayed around to talk to him.
Mini Slide Show below - a litte bit more of Vegas Just a little bit more of Vegas. The first two photos are of the 'laser light' show mentioned initially. This is an amazing display of changing coloured lights in line with loud music. Look up above and you will also see silhouttes of people sliding along roof canopy. It is all 'part of the show' in Freemont Street, Vegas.
Mini Slide Show of the Sunset Helicopter flight out to the Canyon Taking a helicopter flight out and over the Grand Canyon was the best way to see this amazing 'Great Wonder' of the world. It was a sunset flight and we were lucky enough to get front seats on the way out. These photos are in time order of the flight and are all taken out of the window of the helicopter. They turned out surprisingly well since we had a nice clear day. On the way back we flew partly over the 'Strip' to see the 'night lights from the air. It was fantastic. We landed for an early evening picnic, you can see from the photos.
Taking a walk down Fremont Street 'Viva Las Vegas', the next stop on the way, arrviving via Lux Bus, which took approximately 6 hours from our pick up point. 'Fremont Street', is the 'Old Los Vegas' and is contained within a pedestrian mall featuring 12.5 million lights and 550,000 watts of amazing sound at VivaVision which is a music and laser light show that screens along in the overhead canop, (shown later in some of the photos). Firstly lets take a walk down Fremont Street.
Street Photography depicting everyday life - Downtown Broadway Downtown Los Angelos around Broadway. Spent about half an hour here while in transit to another place so did a little street photography. It's not a city you like to spend alot of time here as the best parts of Los Angelos are on the outer suburbs. You constantly hear about the huge number of homeless people everywhere, however it isn't until you see it, right in the heart of city how bad it is. People live out of supermarket trolleys as it's easy for them to move around from place to place and it's rife.
Mini Slideshow below around Hollywood Boulevard What else might you see on Hollywood Boulevard? Possibly someone famous with a Pink Porshe who looks like a 'Rock Star', a movie Premier which happens just outside the Chinese Theatre and of course the 'tourists on their sightseeing adventure with 'eyes wide open' so as not to miss anything.
Mini Slideshow below around Hollywood Boulevard Well it is Hollywood and you can be whoever you want to be OR, come here to find out WHO you might like to be. Window shop here to find your 'dress up' costumes.
The 'Walk of Fame' where you see the star's names on the pavement. Something you do when you come to Los Angelos, however it's really a bit of a disappointment. The street it's a bit dirty and smelly and not that interesting but one of those things that you do because it has 'history'.
Mini Slideshow below of the colouful characters around Venice Beach Here's a very 'mini' slideshow view of 'life in Venice Beach' Here's another intersting aspect of Venice Beach. See a Medical Doctor, tell them you have a medical condition (stress related) and get pescribed some maijuana - it' that easy. These 'DR OFFICE's' are all along the Venice Beach boulevard (not in Santa Monica), and the people outside trying to get you in - all 'high as a kite'. After all this is 'Venice Beach!'
